do I have a case for lack of payment

More details to this question:
There was a severe flood in the villa I was renting. The damage was caused by a severed sprinkler head cut by a landscaping company. The uncontrolled water drove a hole in a metal soffit and filled the ceilings with water. The ceilings collapsed. All walls, ceilings, facilities were taken out due to water and mold damage. Undamaged furnishings and personal effects were boxed and put in the garage with large heating units. This was done professionally, because as a snowbird I was at my summer home. I was not able to return to the villa for 5 months. Because the landlord said I was “covered,” I filed a claim for $32,692 in February of 2015 for damages to furnishings in the fall of 2014. After a long period of no response, the insurance company said they would pay $8,000 to $10000 as a “GIFT.” I have replaced many items at my own expense; many I cannot afford to replace. I did not have renter’s insurance.

You have a claim against the landscaping company and maybe the LL - but it may not be financially viable. Thats why renters insurance is so crucial.

Insurance enables people and companies to reduce the risk of suffering a catastrophic financial loss. Insurance attorneys offer a variety of services to both individuals and small businesses. For example, paying a small health insurance premium protects you in the event you are in an accident or diagnosed with a health condition that requires expensive treatment. Individual consumers may commonly purchase health insurance, automobile insurance, homeowner's insurance and/or renter's insurance. Businesses need a variety of policies to protect both their property and the company in the event of a lawsuit. Your insurance lawyer can review your existing policies and advise you on additional policies or coverage that may be necessary to protect you or your company from potential risks. Insurance law firms can also help you challenge insurance claims that have been denied in "bad faith," or in violation of the terms and conditions of the policy. And insurance lawyers can represent you if you are sued for something that is covered by an existing insurance policy.
